I believe that at least one percent of the people I distrust act from the best of intentions. And I believe that at least one percent of my intentions cannot be trusted. I believe that at least one percent of everything I hear each day is wrong. And I believe that at least one percent of everything I say each day is wrong. I believe that at least one percent of everything I do each day should not be done. And I believe that at least one percent of everything I believe is wrong.

About This Blog
About This Blog
  • This blog will be an extended rumination on the subject of religion through music, movies, and literature, most especially through the writings of Norman O. Brown--in particular his psycho-poetical Love’s Body. The attempt here will not be to enshrine Brown as some infallible oracle of divine wisdom, but to bend, fondle, and play with his work as he did with all the works that inspired him to bop, groove, gambol and jig his way to a state of being more in tune with nature and longing. If I do this right, this will become a community effort with contributions from readers with a mutual interest in sharing love’s body.

"The dreamer awakes, not from a body but to a body. Not an ascent from body to spirit, but the descent of spirit to body." --Norman O. Brown
